______2.The new structures in the Township sheet is here and given to Harold..
______3. Numbers were not here for the 2012 levies of taxes State school aid
amounts and this is holding up all of the taxes. Late this year.
. Clerk to complete the forms in the tax roll book and fill in the statement of
taxes for the state. This is due the 3rd Monday in December to the
state. Treasurer to mail out the taxes and set the collection times for these.
Taxes were up for the township
______4. The Caucus needs to be set for January 2013.
______5.Clerk will have W-2s and Record books ready for board on January.
______6. Bear Creek was selected to audit their election machine and this will be done
in the Clerk’s Office in Baraboo. Judy Brassington and the Clerk will do the
audit. Orders from the state. Towns and villages selected at random.
______7. The patrolman is to be given a Christmas Bonus..
______8. Smart Growth members are to be paid at the January meeting for the 4th
quarter of 2012 , if there is a bill.
_____9. The ballots were ordered for the February 19th and the April 2nd elections in
2013.
_____10. The sheet on the school levies, news for township has been completed and
will go out to the Township with the taxes. Also the 2013 sheets on recycling.
This is the Spring Newsletter. The web page address of :

_____11. The DNR needs a report completed on the levies for each of the schools,
county, township, and state, as this is how they base their DNR in lieu of taxes.
We don’t get this break if the sheet isn’t completed.
_____12.The statute books are at the county and will be picked up when the clerk is at
the office.
______13 The tax sheet for the state needed to be completed , signed, and sent to the
state.. That we stayed in compliance with the amount of our tax levy for the
township.
______14..The motion needs to be made to close the Township records as of December
31,2012 . This is a state law.
______15.The tobacco selling permit sheet for Bear Creek needs to be completed and
sent to the state..Even if we have no cigarettes being sold in the Township.
______16. We need to discuss amounts of money to move from regular account to the
equipment account for 2012.
______17.. Sauk County residents needing help with heat, repairs,, etc. have some
information sheets available at the town office.
______18. Garbage pick-up and recycling sheets are here.
______19.. Lottery Credit amounts and the new First Dollar amounts of credit are
here. Sheets run for the board.

MINUTES October 2, 2012 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday October
2nd, 2012 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by
Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs,
Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; , and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was
made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by
Jeff Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed. .
The recycling grant application for 2013 was completed by the clerk before October
1,2012.
The board was paid at this meeting.
The rest of the fire bills are due in November. The rate for 2012 was .053% The rate
for 2013 will be .065 and raise the amount about $4000.00.
Quarterly reports are due at this time.
The November town board meeting was set for Thursday November 8, 2012 due
to Fall Presidential Election being on Tuesday. .
The budget was to be started and sheets were distributed to the board but a
special meeting was called for Tuesday October 16th at 8:00 P.M. for putting
together the budget proposals for the 2013 Budget.

. The Board will meet at 7:30 P.M. on November 8th for the Budget Proposal
Meeting, followed by the Budget Hearing Meeting, followed by the Budget Adoption
Meeting. Then the regular monthly meeting will be held.
2nd half of insurance is due in November.
The State Shared Revenue came .
Shelly Scallon to be paid for the care of the Ward Cemetery.

There will be a Clerk’s and Treasurer’s meeting in Baraboo on October 24th and
both the Clerk and Treasurer will attend. this year..
Materials were forwarded from Ted Greenheck of the Planning Commission of the
Town.of Bear Creek concerning property of Robert Needham to change a parcel from
commercial to ag land. Motion made by Harold Emerson to make this change, 2nd, and
carried. Chairman McCluskey stated no objections and this will be changed.
There was to be a clean sweep in Sauk County October 6,2012. Posted on the web
page..
Salt and sand for the winter roads was discussed and ordered.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:20 P.M. by Jeff Scallon to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and
carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

______6. The dog collections reimbursement. This is paid to Sheila for
collecting the dog taxes.A check to be paid to her tonight if here from the

______7. The fire departments are to be paid the rest of their levy for the year at this
meeting. Plain 50% and Town of Washington 25%.
______8. Rural Mutual Insurance is to be paid in the amount of $ 4,460.50 which is
half of the yearly premium.
______9. The Clerk and Treasurer attended a Clerk’s meeting October 24th in
Baraboo..
_____10. The treasurer is getting $244.00 for stamps to mail out the taxes.
______11.A letter came on the amounts of raising the levy 2013 is $2.00 higher
than last year,plus using $9,525.00 for s debt payment..
We got a sheet on this from the state on how to tabulate our amounts.
Any carryover can be used the next year. Just that strict records need to be
kept on these amounts. Sheet is here and to be filled out after the budget is
approved. Amount of allowable from the state is $267,436.00 plus the debt
obligation of $9,537.00 makes levy at $276,961.00
_____12.Jenny Erickson asked to be placed on the agenda. Clerk to call her and let
her know a place and time...
_____13. The special assessment sheet needs to be filled out for the county. This
year we have none.
______14. Check came for the Veteran’s grave at the Ward Cemetery. The amount of
$6.00. This is perpetual and provided by President Abraham Lincoln for those
who gave their lives for this nation.
______15. The December meeting needs to be set...
_______16.The election board needs to be paid tonight and results of the Presidential
Election in Bear Creek needs to be announced.

MINUTES September 2012 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday September
4tht, 2012 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by
Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors ; Sheila Tafs,
Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Reggie Jaquish, and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was
made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Jeff
Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed..Sealcoating and asphalt work were discussed
and being done..
The recycling grant application for 2013 is to be completed by the clerk and sent in
before October 1,2012..These done on the computer as of 2009 and submitted directly to
the state. The Town receives confirmation of this being done.
The insurance audit was compiled, completed, and sent to the Rural Mutual
Insurance Company. ..
St. Patrick’s Church requested a license for beer at their Fall Festival September
16th and it was issued. Motion to approve the license was made by Jeff Scallon, 2nd, and
carried. Dwayne Faber was issued a 1 day operator’s license to be the licensed bartender
all day at the festival.
The October town board meeting was set for October 2, 2012.
The State Road Report came and needed to be completed.The chairman does this.
The finalized taxation report came after the August settlement.
The dog list to be completed by the treasure and sent to the county.
The equalized values came for 2012 and the clerk ran copies for the board.
The current population is 598 , up about 100 from 2000 census report.
The 2013 budget will be started in October. A special budget meeting will be set in
October at the Bear Creek Town Hall to plan the budget.
There is a Clean Sweep in Bear Creek and Sauk County October 6,2012 .
Reggie Jaquish was present concerning a survey map at the Walter Powell property
and it was approved by the board. There was also a concern of Robert Needham wanting
some land of his rezoned to ag land and the board had no objections to this and this is on
the agenda for action at the September meeting of the board..
The state licensing bureau needed the correct seller’s permit for the Drea Bar..
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 8:45 P.M. by Harold Emerson to adjourn the meeting, 2nd
and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

Saturday October 6,2012 Clean Sweep in Sauk County
to undisclosed recipients
Sauk County will host a Clean Sweep Program to dispose of hazardous wastes on Saturday, October 6, from 8:30 a.m.- noon at the former Sauk County Landfill, located at E8795B Evergreen Lane, Baraboo. Commercial entities and farm operations in Sauk County that qualify as Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs) of hazardous waste are eligible to participate and are required to preregister by September 26. There is a fee for commercial entities but not for farm operations.
The attached flyer and poster have more information on what will be accepted. Please feel free to distribute these, post them, or publicize the event in any way you can. Also, attached are two handouts that list alternative disposal options. These can also be found on the county website at: https://www.co.sauk.wi.us/cpz/hazardous-waste-clean-sweep

Approved minutes of August 2012 Town Board meeting of Bear Creek
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday August 7,
2012 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by
Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs,
Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Kevin Roessler, Don Fleming, Bob Fleming,
Dan Fargen ,and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was
made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Jeff
Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed. . .
Kevin Roessler was present concerning a certified survey map of a house he is
building His paper work being done was approved and forwarded to the Planning
Commission..
The State School Credit was received and credited to our account at Sauk County..
The Insurance Audit was completed and sent..
Final values for assessment in Bear Creek is $ 56,910,500.00 for 2012.
Consumer’s Co-op sent contract on the amount of billings of propane for the winter
season. Marty has the contract. Was signed and returned. Signed contract back in
township. Copies for the board.
The September meeting was set for September 4, 2012 on Tuesday evening.
The recycling Grant for 2012 needs to be completed and sent in. It is in the computer
State Shared Revenue is to come this month.
The chairman is putting together the figures for the bridge program .
Dan Fargen and Don Fleming were present concerning ATV rides in the town.
Each has some different views and wants of their rides. Were told to work out their
differences and the ordinance was not changed. 3 rides per year in the town and no new
areas aproved.
There was a Partisan Primary in the Township on August 14th and we had 89
voters. Th touch screen had problems at the end of the day and Ken is trying to rectify
this, along with help from the company. We used 5 members on the election board. We
had 1 overseas ballot sent and returned email.
There were some bad wind storms and many trees down in the township.
The area paper asked the clerk to write some of her duties as clerk and an article is
being put together on area clerks by the paper.
A survey came concerning property of Walter Powell and this was forwarded to the
Planning and Zoning Commission.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:53 P.M. by Jeff Scallon to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and
carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

______2 . Planning Commission will meet at 7:00 P.M. tonight and report to board
on their decisions of the business before that board. Ted to report on this.
Walter Powell survey and Robert Needham wanting to rezone a dump area.
______3. Concern about Cottage businesses in the town. What is allowed??
______4..The budget needs to be started in October for 2013.
______5. The State Road report comes at this time and needs to be completed for funds
for roads. This is sent to the Chairman.
______6.The County Directories will no longer be printed by the county. They are
on the computer and available to the residents.
______7. The Recycling Grant papers for 2013 are on the computer. They need to be
run off and filled out and sent to the state and district by October 1, 2012. Clerk
to complete these and send to perspective departments..
______8. The current population for the township is 598. This is up almost 100 people
from the 2 000 census report..
______9. The Rural Mutual Insurance Audit was completed and sent . The bill extra
for the year is $188.00
______10. Drea’s Tavern license was questioned by the state. Clerk has a call into
Pat McCluskey on this matter. License for this year of a state permit
number needed by the state.
______11.A proof petition list for Managed Forest Land for 2012 is here and copies run
for the board.
______12. .The dog list is to be completed for the year and sent to the county by the
treasurer.
______13.The equalized values comes for 2012 and the Clerk will run copies for the
board.
______14. Sauk County Plat Books are available at the county ...
______15 .The clerk issued Ken Blum a key to the town hall so he could get in to work
on the voting equipment, so all is ready for the Presidential Election in
November..

Approved Minutes to July 2012 Town Board Meeting for Bear Creek Township
MINUTES JULY 2012 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Thursday July 5th,
2012 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by
Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs,
Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Scott,Inc. rep., and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were dispensed with on a motion by Harold Emerson due
to the extreme heat . Motion to approve as presented was made by Harold Emerson ,
2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by
Jeff Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed..Culverts being put in and roadsides being
mowed. .
The Quarterly Reports are due at this time and to be completed in July by the
Clerk..
The Town Board was paid at the July meeting.
The Assessor and the Clerk have work on the town records at the county office
from the Board of Review . When finished these will then be forwarded to the state.
The Federal Insurance Audit has been completed for the IRS . .
Drea’s Bar licenses were issued to Pat McCliskey and paid for the year 2012. 4
operator’s licenses. No cigarette license .
The State Fire Dues are coming in July. These are now used for equipment . 90% to
be paid to Plain and 10% to be paid to Town of Washington.

season. Marty had the contract. Harold made the motion to approve the contract , 2nd
and carried.The contract is in the amount of 2000 gallons.
The August meeting was set for August 7, 2012
The Plain Fire Department issued a no fireworks on the 4th in Bear Creek due to the
drought.
Board of Review was held on Thursday June 7,2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
or adjournment. There were no concerns.
. Chairman to published the letting of the road bids for 2012 and these were opened.
sealcoating low bid was by Scott at $15,816.00 per mile. Asphalt low bid was Gasser’s at
104,620.00 per mile. Nachreiner Road was to be improved some during this summer..
2nd half of the real estate taxes are due as of July 31,2012.
The assessment following Board of Review is $56,910,500.00.
Surveyor Ted Greenheck brought a driveway application to the board from Margaret
Seymore and this was approved.
Tim McCluskey has an air-conditioner the town can use for the hot weather.
St. Patrick’s was issued a 1 day license for their festival. Were notified of a licensed
bartender must be on duty all the time beer is sold.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:08 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and
carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

We have been having record breaking heat conditions and severe drought, with the
Governor issuing releasing of government lands and farmers allowed to get water from
the streams, rivers, etc. A very different summer than usual.
