Fall Partisan Primary Election September 14th

Notice is hereby given of the Fall Partisan Primary Election to be held in the Township of Bear Creek on Tuesday September 14, 2010, at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the polls open from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Balloting will include :
1. Party preference
2. Statewide officials : Governor, Lieutenant. Governor, Attorney General, and
Secretary of State
3. United States Senator
2. Congressional 3rd District Representative
3. Legislative : State Senator District 17 and State Assembly District 51
4. County Sheriff, County Coroner, and County Clerk of Circuit Court

Minutes to August 2010 Town Board meeting

The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday August 3, 2010 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Ted Greenheck, Joe Bauer, Pat Anderson and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Jeff Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed. Bids were opened on the asphalt work to be done on Bear Valley Road. Scott had the low bid and was offered the contract for this.
Joe Bauer was present concerning times of working the quarry and a letter composed by Ted Greenheck was signed by the board and to be presented to the county of these concerns.
The State School Credit was received and credited to our account at Sauk County..
A cable damage report was given to the insurance company.
Dan Reutten didn’t pay his special assessments and a letter was sent to the state on this, as they had concerns..
The Insurance Audit was completed .
Final values for assessment in Bear Creek is $ 57,197,200.00 for 2010.
Consumer’s Co-op sent contract on the amount of billings of propane for the winter season. Marty has the contract. Was signed and returned. Signed contract back in township. Copies for the board.
The September meeting was set for September 7, 2010
The recycling Grant for 2010 needs to be completed and sent in. It is in the computer
There will be a Fall Primary Election on September 14,2010. Clerk to set up board and post meeting of testing equipment and notice to papers.
The new phone is being looked at for the patrolman..
State Shared Revenue is to come this month.
Matt Brickl driveway is being looked at as it isn’t at code. It is too steep..
The chairman is putting together the figures for the bridge program .
Dan Fargen sent information concerning the trail ride in Bear Creek September 11,2010 and information was given to the board and posted at the Town Hall.
A letter came about things that needed to be done with the diesel fuel tanks. Patrolman to get a fire extinguisher and place it where necessary.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:45 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

Approved July Minutes of Bear Creek 2010

MINUTES JULY 2010 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday July 6th, 2010 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Ted Greenheck, Dan Fargen , Joe Bauer; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by
Jeff Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed..Culverts being put in and roadsides being mowed. Lake Road being done in conjunction with the Town of Franklin. Bauer doing the gravel . Scott doing the road work..
The Quarterly Reports are due at this time and to be completed in July by the Clerk..
The Town Board was paid at the July meeting.
The Assessor and the Clerk have work on the town records at the county office from the Board of Review . When finished these will then be forwarded to the state.
The Federal Insurance Audit has been completed for the IRS . .
Lawrence Drea’s licenses were issued and paid for the year 2010. 3 operator’s licenses. No cigarette license .
The State Fire Dues are coming in July. These are now used for equipment . 90% to be paid to Plain and 10% to be paid to Town of Washington.
Consumer’s Co-op sent contract on the amount of billings of propane for the winter season. Marty had the contract. Harold made the motion to approve the contract , 2nd and carried.The contract is in the amount of 2000 gallons. $3,098.00. With funds still available of $53.96 the actual check issued was $3,044.04..
The August meeting was set for August 3, 2010
Joe Bauer was present concerning restrictions on the quarry. Marty to look into this. A letter to be written to County Planning and Zoning of this concern.
Ted Greenheck was present concerning Matt Brickl’s driveway that has to be proven it is in the correct limit of elevation. Also for the wages to be presented for the Planning Commission Board.
Dan Fargen was present concerning the ATV ride on Bear Creek with one to be held September 11,2010 . Lunch to be served by St. Patrick’s Youth Group.
Board of Review was held on Thursday June 10,2010 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. or adjournment. There were no concerns.
The County sent their approval of trail rides for UTVs. Same as State rules.
The Chairman requested copies of improvement to road bills for filing for funds. .
2nd half of the real estate taxes are due as of July 31,2010.
Dan Fargen was sent a bill of $ 291.92 of the costs of the hearing meeting approval, meeting, and publishing of notices of the ATV rides in the Township.
A get well card was sent from the board to Emmogene Emerson, wife of Harold, who was ill.
A new phone was discussed for the patrolman. Marty to look into this. Also, the possibility of Internet at the Town Hall.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 10:07 P.M. by Harold Emerson to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.
