News notices to Township

Have a very Happy Holidays.
Harold Emerson, Supervisor had knee surgery and is reovering fine.
The tax levies are completed and at the county office and should be printed and out to you in a few days.
Coming with the taxes will be the dates of pick-up for the recycling and a newsletter on the school levies, Town Board, Smart Growth Board, Fire Warden, Elec tions for 2010,etc. News residents may be interested in having.
Much appreciate all of you working for us to have a good township.

November 9,2009
MINUTES November 9, 2009 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The meetings were called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; and Eileen Eberle , Clerk and 2 men as guests.
The Proposed Budget Meeting was held with discussion of the budget.
The Public Hearing of the Budget was held and any concerns of the budget were raised and defined and accepted.
The Adoption of the 2010 Budget Meeting was held and a motion made by Harold Emerson to adopt the budget which was carried and the budget was adopted. Tim McCluskey was present for this meeting. These meetings were published and posted. The Town froze the amount of their levy for next year to be the same as this year.
The Township of Bear Creek then held its regular monthly meeting Monday November 9th, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order following the budget meetings , by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Jeff Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed. Sand, salt,etc. ordered for the winter season. Discussion of putting in a holding bunker for the salt and sand which is being built.
A survey and driveway permit didn’t have the paper work back to the board. .
The fire-departments were paid in November for their full levy for 2009. 50% to Plain and 25% to the Town of Washington..
The December town board meeting was set for December 1, 2009.
Rural Mutual Insurance was paid their 2nd half of their premium for 2009.
There was a levy limit from the state on the amount raised for Town Budget. We are within the limit.
Population of Bear Creek is 591 with approximate number of those of voting age of 428.
Dan Ruetten needs to pay $12,048.54 in Managed Forest Land withdrawal fees and these will be added to his taxes.
There will be 4 Elections in 2010.
The recycling sheets for 2010 should be coming and need to be given to Sheila to mail with the taxes.
The $6.00 check came for the Veteran’s Grave at the Ward Cemetery and was given to the treasurer. This was created by President Abraham Lincoln.
A check was written to Wiesers for the Salt/Sand Storage Shed for $12,632.00..
Shelly Scallon was paid for her work at the Ward Cemetery.
Clerk put together a newsletter for the residents and had board make sure addresses,etc. were all correct. Needs the web site on it yet. These will go out with the taxes.
The levies are coming for the schools and the county for the taxes for this year.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 8:45 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

______3. All of the numbers are here for the 2009 levies of taxes. The last one came
Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving. . The amounts were levied and
gotten to the county. and in for the running of the taxes. Clerk to complete the
forms in the tax roll book and fill in the of the statement of taxes for the
state. This is due the 3rd Monday in December to the state. Treasurer to mail
out the taxes and set the collection times for these. Taxes were up for the
township
______4. 2 checks came. From Chris Lindquist for $50.00 and Douglas Schmidt for
$50.00. I gave them to Harold
______5. Meetings are being held in Wisconsin by the Town’s Association to get ideas
on having the county responsible for the evaluation of property. Chairmen and
Assessors got this information.
______6. .Refund came from IRS for $8.34. Don’t know why, but we are putting it in the
bank. Given to Sheila.
______7. The patrolman is to be given a Christmas Bonus..
______8. Smart Growth members are to be paid at the January meeting for the 4th
quarter of 2009.
______9. The checks are going to the board tonight on the budget meetings in October
and November . Board to be paid for 4th quarter at next meeting.
_____10. The sheet on the school levies, news for township has been completed and
will go out to the Township with the taxes. Also the 2010 sheets on recycling.
This is the Spring Newsletter. The web page address of :

_____11. The DNR needs a report completed on the levies for each of the schools,
county, township, and state, as this is how they base their DNR in lieu of taxes.
We don’t get this break if the sheet isn’t completed.
_____12. The January Town Board meeting will be January 5th as it is the first
Tuesday of the month.. .
______13 The tax sheet for the state needed to be completed , signed, and sent to the
state.. That we stayed in compliance with the amount of our tax levy for the
township.
______14..The motion needs to be made to close the Township records as of December
31,2009 . This is a state law.
______15.The tobacco selling permit sheet for Bear Creek needs to be completed and
sent to the state..Even if we have no cigarettes being sold in the Township.
______16. We will need to transfer funds from the Equipment Account to pay this
month’s bills. The checkbook doesn’t have the funds in the regular account.
______17. Ballots are to be ordered for the spring 2010 elections on February 16th and
April 6th.
______18. Garbage pick-up and recycling prices are here for 2010.
______19.. Lottery Credit amounts and the new First Dollar amounts of credit are
here. Sheets run for the board.

Approved October 2009 Minutes to Regular Monthly Meeting

MINUTES October 6, 2009 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday October 6th, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Ted Greenheck; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by
Jeff Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed. .
The recycling grant application for 2010 was completed by the clerk before October 1,2009.
The board was paid at this meeting.
Smart Growth meetings are being held at the Town Hall monthly. They will meet Monday October 20th in October. Ted was present with the information on a driveway for Matt Brickl and a survey map for Chris Lindquist. Also a survey map for Doug Schmid. Put on the October 20th meeting agenda of the Town Board.
The rest of the fire bills are due in November.
Quarterly reports are due at this time.
The November town board meeting was set for November 9, 2009 due to the Treasurer and Clerk having conflicts of the date of November3rd..
The budget was to be started and sheets were distributed to the board but a special meeting was called for Tuesday October 20th at 8:00 P.M. for putting together the budget proposals for the 2010
.
.The Board will meet at 7:30 P.M. on November 9th for the Budget Proposal Meeting, followed by the Budget Hearing Meeting, followed by the Budget Adoption Meeting. Then the regular monthly meeting will be held.
2nd half of insurance is due in November.
Current population in Bear Creek is 590. Up 13 people from the last state report..
The new posting board has been installed on the front of the building and being used.
The State Shared Revenue came in the amount of $9,041.00.
The Clerk was honored by the State Clerk’s Association for 25 years of service as the township clerk and was given a plaque.
Shelly Scallon needs to be paid in November for the care of the Ward Cemetery.

The Salt (NaCl) /Sand shed was started with the pit dug and the cement blocks ordered. To be completed so it can be filled with the winter salt and sand. Cost approximately $20,000.00. Motion to build the Salt /Sand Storage Shed was made by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried. Wieser Concrete will do the work.
There will be a Clerk’s and Treasurer’s meeting in Baraboo on October 26th and the clerk and treasurer will attend. This is on the levying and collecting of the taxes.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:42 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

The 2010 Town Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday April 13,2010 at 8:00 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall.

Sorry about the errors in the earlier dates of the elections , as I was given the wrong dates and didn't have a 2010 calendar to check the materials, which have now been checked.

The school levies for the taxes are in the Township. We are waiting for the county and state levies to be able to complete the tax roll.

The Town Board approved the levies for Bear Creek at the Town Meetings November 9th and the Town Levy for next year stays exactly the same as last year.

Meetings to approve 2010 Budget and November meeting

Notice of 2010 Budget Meetings for Bear Creek Township
Notice is hereby given of the Township of Bear Creek meetings for the 2010 Budget of the Township of Bear Creek. The budget is posted at the Town Hall and available for viewing from any board member.
The public meeting with the Bear Creek Town Board of the Proposed 2010 Budget Meeting for the Township will be held Monday November 9,2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall at 7:30 P.M. At this meeting the Town Board will present their proposals for 2010. The Town Board is proposing a freeze on the town levy of taxes.(The town levy will stay the same as the town levy in 2009.)
Immediately following the Proposed 2010 Budget Meeting will be the Public Hearing of the 2010 Budget Proposals for Bear Creek. At this meeting all proposed amounts for each entity will be discussed and reviewed.
After the Public Hearing the Town Board of Bear Creek will adopt the 2010 budget for the Township of Bear Creek at the 2010 Bear Creek Budget Adoption Meeting..
Following these Budget Meetings on Monday November 9,2009 the Regular Monthly Meeting of the Township of Bear Creek will be held.(Meeting date was changed .) The agenda is posted.

2010 Budget proposal meeting minutes

Minutes to 2010 Budget Proposal Meeting of Bear Creek Township
October 20,2009
The Town Board of the Township of Bear Creek held its 2010 Budget Proposal meeting at the Bear Creek Town Hall on Tuesday October 20,2009 with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included: Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer, Tim McCluskey, Patrolman, Shelly Scallon of The Planning Commission, Matt Brickl, , Doug Schmid ,and Clerk, Eileen Eberle.
Discussion of a driveway on the Doug Schmid property was held. Motion to approve as presented by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried.
Discussion of a land survey map and a division of land by Chris Lindquist was discussed. Motion to approve having this signed with the hard copy of the documents at the November board meeting and put on hold until then..
Discussion of a driveway at the Matt Brickl property was held. Motion to approve as presented was made by Jeff Scallon, 2nd, and carried.
Paper work was completed in these accepted motions and is on file at the town hall.
The budget meeting included proposing amounts to be budgeted in all categories. Following the proposals the board discussed keeping the town levy at the same level as in 2009 as there is a concern of the economy of the area. Each member agreed and that is how the budget will be proposed , by the board putting a freeze on the amount budgeted for 2010.
A check came from the county for sending in the 2009 dog report and this amount will be given the treasurer at the November meeting as she generated this report on her treasurers records. The amount is $29.50.
Bids came in for the blacktop for the Salt/Sand Storage unit being built at the town Hall property. Gasser for $5,185.00 and Scott for $5,772.00 and the board accepted the lower bid.
Motion was made at 10:45 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the Budget Proposal Meeting ., 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

There are no elections this fall in the township.
The November Town Board meeting will be Monday November 9,2009 at 8:00 P.M.
The 2010 Budget Hearing meetings will be at 7:30 P.M. on Monday November 9,2009.
The 2010 Budget Proposal meeting will be Tuesday October 20,2009 at 8:00 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall.

MINUTES September 2009 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday September 8th, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Ted Greenheck, and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed..Sealcoating and asphalt work were discussed and being done..
The recycling grant application for 2010 is to be completed by the clerk and sent in before October 1,2009..These done on the computer as of 2009 and submitted directly to the state. The Town receives confirmation of this being done.
The insurance audit was compiled, completed, and sent to the Rural Mutual
Insurance Company. We have to join Farm Bureau..
Clerk ordered the posting container for the front of the building and it is being shipped. Should be here this month.
The comprehensive Planning Ordinances for the Town go into effect as of this meeting. Motion to adopt the Chapter 10 Land Use Ordinances of the Township of August 4,2009 was made by Harold Emerson, 2nd , and carried.
Smart Growth meetings are being held at the Town Hall monthly. Ted Greenheck was present to inform the board of their activities and to verify postings and to see the ordinance rulings were correctly completed..On the October agenda is to be a survey map to be approved.
There is a possibility of getting back the funds of the flooding paid by Bear Creek. Chairman submitted these amounts to the county.
St. Patrick’s Church requested a license for beer at their Fall Festival September 20th and it was issued.
The October town board meeting was set for October 6, 2009.
Allen Peckham sent a bill for $1,662.50 for going over our new ordinances. Paid at this meeting.
The State Shared Revenue payment came.
The finalized taxation report came after the August settlement.
The dog list to be completed by the treasuer and sent to the county.
The equalized values came for 2009 and the clerk ran copies for the board.
The 2010 budget will be started in October. A special budget meeting will need to be set.
The treasurer had a baby girl named Braelyn Renee on August 18th. The Town gave her some gifts for the new arrival.Congratulations to Sheila and Josh.
There will be a need to change the November meeting at the request of the Treasurer. Possibly the Clerk’s request , also.
Other checks written were Scott for patch $1,877.20 and Scott Sealcoating $36,663.49.
The Road Report for the state was being worked on by the chairman and sent to the state by the Chairman.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:15 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

August 4,2009
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday August 4, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Ted Greenheck , and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
The First Dollar Credit check came in the amount of $12,350.43 and had to be returned to the county for dispersment.
The State School Credit in the amount of $95,677.16 was received and credited to our account at Sauk County..
The Federal Insurance Audit needs to be completed with the IRS in Kansas .
Final values for assessment in Bear Creek is $ 57,134,300.00 for 2009.
Roads to be completed in 2009 were discussed. Board to meet and go over the roads to see what needs to be done.
Flowers were purchased for the hangers in front of the building.
Consumer’s Co-op’s signed contract back in township. .
The 2 ordinances of the land parcel and driveways will be enforced as of 30 days of approval at this town board meeting. Motion to approve these ordinances as presented was made by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried. Ted Greenheck, Smart Growth Chairman was present and presented these ordinances. Were available for review at 3 places in the township.
The September meeting was set for September 8, 2009. Was changed so there was 30 days time for review of new ordinances.
The recycling Grant for 2010 needs to be completed and sent in.
There will not be any Fall Elections. Elections for 2010 and dates are posted on our web page. Web site is http://townofbearcreek.blogspot.com.

Smart Growth meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Clerk posts meetings and requests they send a representative to the Town Board meeting so we keep abreast on their findings. This board met August 3rd for a public hearing of the ordinances.
The Federal Exemption for FS was signed and sent.
Ed Wittmann, former Township Chairman passed away and the town sent flowers and condolences to the family.. .
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:15 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

______1. Roads being done in the township for 2009. Discussion.
______2 Clerk ordered the board for the postings that will be mounted on the building
in Green. The Kay Company will ship and we have received the invoice.. They
very willingly dealt with a township.
______3. Comprehensive Planning Ordinances for the Township will be enforced as
of this meeting on the driveways and land parcels.. Ted Greenheck , Chairman
is present ,also because of some surveys and a driveway..
______4..The town fire number of E2577 was placed at the Clerk’s home and entered
into the address computer of the state. Thanks for helping to straighten this
out. Later Sauk County took the E2577 number in the blue and the
red.Clerk will get numbers and put on her mailbox of E2577 and E2578
.
______5. There is a possibility of getting back funds spent on the flood of 2008 by the
township, that not paid by the state or FEMA..The part paid out of local funds
. Marty to contact the county on this.
______6.St. Patrick’s Catholic Church sent a request for a permit for their
fall festival This needs to be approved by the board and issued for September
20th. Cost of $5.00. Check here and given to Treasurer.
______7. The Recycling Grant papers for 2010 are on the computer. They need to be
run off and filled out and sent to the state and district by October 1, 2009. Clerk
to complete these and send to perspective departments..
______8. There will be no Primary Election in September . Also no November election.
______9. The Rural Mutual Insurance Audit was completed and sent.
______10.Allen Peckham, the lawyer, sent a bill for going over our ordinances in the
amount of $1,662.50 and this to be paid at this meeting..

______3. Ted Greenheck is on the agenda with the update of the ordinances and work
of the Smart Growth Committee.

Parcel Division and Driveway Ordinances adopted.

The Township of Bear Creek held a Public Hearing on driveway ordinances and parcel division ordinances in the township on August 3, 2009.
The adoption of these ordinances were on the agenda for the regular monthly meeting held on August 4, 2009 and the ordinances were approved at the reghular monthly meeting.

MINUTES JULY 2009 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday July 7th, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Ted Greenheck, Bill Paulus ; Jewel and Associate; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by
Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed..Culverts being put in and roadsides being mowed. Roads being prepared for sealcoating and asphalt laying..
The Quarterly Reports are due at this time and to be completed in July by the Clerk..
The Town Board was paid at the July meeting.
The Assessor and the Clerk have working on the town records at the county office for the Board of Review . When finished these will then be forwarded to the state.
The Federal Insurance Audit has been completed for the IRS in Kansas .
Lawrence Drea’s licenses were issued and paid for the year 2009. 2 operator’s licenses. No cigarette license .
The State Fire Dues are coming in July. These are now used for equipment . 90% to be paid to Plain and 10% to be paid to Town of Washington.
Flowers were purchased for the hangers in front of the building.
Consumer’s Co-op sent contract on the amount of billings of propane for the winter season. Marty had the contract. Was signed and returned in the amount of 2500 gallons. $3,372.50. With funds still available of $414.01 the avctual check issued was $2,958.49..
The August meeting was set for August 4, 2009
Bill Paulus was present concerning his assessment on his property. Was discussed and he is going to Open Book.
Jewel and Associates were present concerning the survey mapping of the Big Hollow Cemetery. This was approved following a motion to approve as presented by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried.
Notice came of Kenas and LeCount cutting timber in township from the forester.
Letter of complaint came on Jerry Acer living in a shed he built. Getting approval from county and his driveway was approved to the shed.
Board of Review to be held on Tuesday July 21,2009 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. or adjournment.
A holding tank at the town hall needed to be pumped.
Ted Greenheck was present to finalize the drafts of 2 ordinances on driveways and parcels. These are to be presented at a pubic hearing on August 3rd at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall. Ted to publish this and post the notices. Ted was paid for his work in completing the purchase of land by the township from Heisers.
The Chairman requested copies of improvement to road bills for filing for funds. Clerk to get these prepared and to the chairman.
2nd half of the real estate taxes are due as of July 31,2009.

Motion was made at 10:15 P.M. by Jeff Scallon to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

Those who came to Open Book and still need to discuss and object to their assessment have the right to come to Board of Review and have a hearing before the Town Board.

The Town Board of the Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday June 2, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon Supervisors; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Sheila Tafs , Treasurer ;Ted Greenheck ; Tim Lins; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
The Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.

Road work for 2009 was discussed. Mowing being done and culvert work in township.
The Smart Growth Committee of 5 members are Ted Greenheck,Chairman;Shelly Scallon, Joe Bauer, Bob Bremel, and Ken Blum. She should be sworn in to serve on the board..
Ted Greenheck has finalized the purchase of land from Heisers to the Town of Bear Creek..
Board of Review to be held Tuesday July 21st at the Town Hall from 6:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. or adjournment.. Open Book is Wednesday July 8th and Thursday July 9th from 3 to 6. Then other days by appointment only.
Drea’s Bar Licenses will be issued by the end of June for the coming year. Liquor and beer for $200.00. Operator’s licenses for $5.00 each.
Tim Lins was present concerning Kessnick Road and if work would be done on it in 2009.Some spots pretty bad..
The Ward Cemetery Report is to be completed and sent to the county.
The 2008 propane contract is here and Marty to talk to company...
Ted Greenheck was present with the final draft of the driveway ordinances and the parcel ordinances. He is to get copies to Eileen for posting and the hearing on this matter..
Put on the July agenda.
Ted presented an approval of Mary Ellen Kraemer’s driveway and this was approved. .
Matt Brickl’s lot size was increased by a certified map and approved by the board.
Marty signed the affadavit for Raymond Ddcerick to use his mobile home until a new home is built on the property. Was a time limit set?
The next town meeting is July 7,2009.
The insurance audit to be completed and sent into the company.
The insurance check came in the amount of $2,250.00 to repair the shop garage door.
Clerk brought to attention of the board of 4 wheelers recing on Strang Hollow Road. Was told if continuing to report to the county sheriff.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:10 P.M. was made by Sheila Tafs, seconded , and carried. Chairman Marty McCluskey adjourned the June 2009 meeting of the board.

MINUTES TO REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF TOWN OF BEAR CREEK
The Town Board of the Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday May 5,2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Ted Greenheck, and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
The minutes to the last meeting were read by the clerk. Motion to approve was made by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried.
The treasurer’s report was presented by the treasurer. Motion to approve as presented by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried.
Road bids were published in the paper.
Board of Review for 2009 will be held at the Town Hall on Tuesday June 2,2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall at 8:00 P.M. with a motion to adjourn to a later date. Set a new date and time. Posted on the front door of the Town Hall and published in the paper.
First half of the Town Insurance was paid to Rural Mutual Insurance in the amount of $3,975.50
Untaxed land report was sent directly to the assessor.
The Recycling Grants were completed and sent to the district and state.This is the compilation for the last year .
Fire bills were paid. 50% to Plain at this time. 75% to Town of Washington at this time.
Quick-Books program needs to be gotten for township for 2009.
Quarterly reports were completed and sent to state and federal offices.
Board proclaimed May 3rd through May 9th as Municipal Clerk’s Week.
Clerk’s and Treasurer’s Bonds were due to Statewide Services and paid.
Raymond Dederick’s Certified Survey Map was not approved to have a mobile home in Bear Creek. This was not approved by Smart Growth Committee and doesn’t fit Sauk County rules. Clerk to write letter to inform the surveyor.
Drafts for the driveway ordinances and land division ordinances are here for viewing by the board.
Jeff Scallon’s replacement on the Smart Growth Committee was discussed. Possibly a woman to be placed on the board. Bridget Flood to be asked.
Sandy Rott had a complaint that gravel washed into her land in a severe rain storm. No action taken.
Dave Gruber paid for a permit to replace a garage. He also had a complaint about his taxes. A reply was written by the board and sent to him on this matter.
Lurvey’s want to give the town some black dirt. This was discussed. No action taken at this time. Town may need a mining permit.
Overbeek’s on Bluebird Spur had some water damage during a hard rain. No action taken.
Broadband being looked into for internet in this area.

2009 Board of Review for the Town of Bear Creek will be held July 21st at the Bear Creek Town Hall from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. This is a Tuesday.
Open Book will be held prior to this date and hasn't been set as yet.
We are in a re-evaluation year and all land owners will be notified of their new assessments and on those sheets will be the time of Open Book by the assessor and Board of Review by the Town Board and the Assessor.

_______1. Discussion on road work for the summer. Mowing also being done.
_______2. Ted Greenheck requested being on the agenda to report on the progress of
the Smart Growth Committee. His items for the agenda include:
1. Final draft for land division and driveway ordinances in Bear Creek
2. Mary Ellen Kraemer driveway
3. Matt Brickl’s Certified Survey Map
4. Status on Certified Survey Map of Heisers and Bear Creek
_______3. Raymond Dederick called and said he was signing an affidavit concerning
his son moving from their mobile home as soon as his house is built and the
mobile home will be removed from Bear Creek. Is there a time frame for this?
The letter I wrote to him after the last meeting was needed for the county
Planning and Zoning. I sent a copy to Ted and he forwarded this to the county.
Needs to be done this way in the future. ( Copy here for the board)
_______4. Insurance Audit needs to be completed and sent during this month. This
is for Workman’s Comp. and has to be all the wages for May to May , the
insurance year. Getting much more precise.
_______4. Clerk attended the District Clerk’s meeting May 14th. In the afternoon
she became certified for Board of Review for 2009-20010 with a 4 hour
course approved by the State of Wisconsin. .
_______5. Set the new time for Board of Review. Each board member will be paid
$40.00 for the 2009 Board of Review.
_______6. Open Book for 2009 will be held at the Bear Creek Town Hall by the
assessor prior to the Board of Review
_______7. The propane contract is here for 2009-2010 winter season and needs to
be signed and returned to the company..

_______8. The Ward Cemetery report to the county needs to be completed on the
veteran and sent to the county. This is perpetual care of David Ward’s grave,
provided by President Abraham Lincoln following those who gave their lives in
the Civil War for the Freedoms in our country..Was Sheley contacted on the
care of the Ward Cemetery f or 2009?
_______9. The Quick-Books program hasn’t appeared on the clerk’s credit card billing as
of printing of the agenda. Will present bill when the billing is done.
_______10. The date should the July meeting will be July 7th.
_______11. A check came in the amount of $2,250.00 for a claim , after our deductible.
_______12. Drea’s Bar notice of license was published and will be issued on June 30th.
_______13. The sheet came in the housing report for 2008 and the building inspector,
Harold, is to complete this report.
_______14. A request is here from the state on highway improvement projects for
2010-2013. These are for be special Safety issued projects. Given to Chairman.
_______15. IRS says we overpaid on the last quarter by $258.15. Clerk will adjust in next
quarter.

May 5th Meeting of Town of Bear Creek

The May Regular monthly meeting of the Township of Bear Creek is

discussion of Swine Flu in Sauk County and what to do if this became a
concern. This was referred to the chairman.

2009 Minutes to Annual Meeting (Unapproved)

The Township of Bear Creek held its Annual Township Meeting Tuesday evening April 14,2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson , Dale Nachreiner ,Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Jeff Scallon , newly elected Supervisor; Jane Furchgott,Ted Greenheck, Gasser Company Representative, Bob Tennant, and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
The Board was sworn into their respective offices by the Clerk Marty swore in the Clerk.. Each signed the certificate for their respective offices.
Harold Emerson nominated Marty McCluskey to Chair the meeting. This carried and Marty Chaired the meeting.
Roll call was taken.
The minutes of the last meeting were read by the Clerk.Motion to approve as read by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried.
The Annual Financial Report was scrutinized , and questions answered, and motion to approve as presented to board and residents by mailings was made by Jeff Scallon , seconded, and carried.
The Town Board and the Patrolman viewed the roads of the Township before this meeting to find the condition of each road. Bids were let in the paper and
Gassers had the low bid on the asphalt work for 2009 at $86.890.00 per mile.
Scott had the low bid on sealcoating at $12,641.00 per mile.
Bindl/Bauer had the bid on gravel at $6.60 per square yard.
Culverts were discussed and to be ordered.
Jane Furchgott was present concerning the brushing being done on the roads. She would like it to be less invasive to the property owners. The board is stressing Safety and clearance for good sight and less canopy so the roads clear faster in the winter.
Bob Tennant was present to change a driveway or easement to better his fields and farming. The board saw no objection to this and approved it and now it goes to the county.
Raymond Dederick’s survey map was here and given to the Smart Growth Committee to view and make a recommendation
The paper work was presented by Ted Greenheck on the purchase of some land adjoining the Town property from Kevin Heiser for $6000.00. This was approved and check number 7873 issued for this purchase. Town will reimburse Ted for the filing fees when we know the cost of the filing of these papers.
. Also checking into dates with the assessor for Open Book and Board of Review and seeing notices are published in the paper.The assessing won’t be done until later. The Board of Review will meet Tuesday June 2nd at 8:00 P.M. at the Town Hall and adjourn until a later date in July.
The 2010 Annual Meeting was set for Tuesday evening April 13 th .
Motion to adjourn at 9:40 P.M. was made by Sheila Tafs, 2nd, and carried.
Chairman McCluskey adjourned the 2009 Annual Town Meeting.

Smart Growth April Meeting Change

NOTICE : The Smart Growth April Meeting has been changed to Tuesday April 28th at 7:30 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall by Chairman Ted Greenheck.
The Township Annual Meeting was held Tuesday April 14th and some new additions were added to the Smart Growth agenda, so time is needed to process these activities.

MINUTES TO REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF TOWN OF BEAR CREEK The Town Board of the Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting at the Bear Creek Town Hall Tuesday evening March 3, 2009 with the meeting called to order at 8:00P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Dale Nachreiner, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Jeff Scallon; Ted Greenheck; Steve Prouty; Jeff Nachreiner; Reggie Jaquish; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the clerk. Motion to approve as read by Harold Emerson , seconded, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was presented by the treasurer. Motion to approve as presented by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
The Form C State Report has been completed by the clerk and sent registered mail to the state.
The Township Annual Report has been completed by the clerk. These are to be run and sent to the residents in March. Treasurer ran the labels for these letters.
The April 7th General Election will need a 5 person election board. Clerk to put notice in the papers of the election and the testing of the equipment for election day.The testing will be Saturday April 4th at 8:00 A.M. at the Town Hall.. The polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on election day. Board running for election.
The Township changed its April meeting to Monday April 6, 2009 at 8:00 P.M. This because of the election on Tuesday. This needs to be published.
The Township Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday April 14 th at 8:00 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall. This needs to be published in the paper .
The board needs to review the roads before the Annual Meeting , if the weather
permits this. This was set for April 9th at 9:00 A.M. Jeff Scallon is to join the group.
Tim McCluskey got a 50 cents per hour raise for 2009.
The state housing report needs to be completed .
Jerry Whittmann was on the agenda to get his junk yard permit renewed and approval to be presented to the county.
Fire Audit forms are to be completed by the clerk and the fire chiefs so we get the fire dues.
Voter registration forms are here and we will continue to complete these at the Spring Elections.
We have 3 trained by the state for the election processes, Phyllis , Judy, and Eileen to be Chief Inspectors. Will get Lucille and Ken trained also in the next 2 years..Clerk is trained but doesn’t work at the elections as a poll worker , only in emergency...
Steve Prouty was prersent concerning the road closure during winter months. Wants more aggresive signs posted for Safety. Board to look at this when they review the roads..

The PILT monies need to come and be distributed.
The Smart Growth Committee has completed their drafts of some ordinances and will have the wording checked by a lawyer for the final writing. Bob Brassington and Pat Brown both acknowledged an interest in being on the Smart Growth Board.
Renewal of the Quick Books Payroll Program needs to be ordered .
St. Patrick’s was issued a 1 day license to serve beer at their Irish Music Day.
Jeff Nachreiner was present to put some chamges on a survey map of his home. Motion was made by Dale to approve the changes, 2nd, and carried. Ted Greenheck at meeting so it was in the bounds of Smart Growth.
The District Town’s Association meetings were held with Eileen, Marty, Harold, and Jeff attending.
Town and Country came and set up the internet at the clerk’s home for town usage.
Ted Greenheck was present for the survey on Heiser land that will be part of Bear Creek land on an exchange..
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 9:35 P.M. by Shelia Tafs , 2nd by Harold , and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.
Audit of Books meeting
The Town Audit of the Clerk’s and Treasurer’s book for 2008 was completed and approved as presented. The board signed the records of the clerk and treasurer. Clerk was to mail out the Annual Reports following the completion of the audit.

Also, the continuing voter registration before voting takes time. Testing meeting
of equipment was held Saturday April 4th at the Town Hall. Checks for
this group to be signed tonight.
_______2. Township Annual 2009 Meeting will be held Tuesday April 14,2009 at the
Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting to be called to order at 8:00 P.M. The
meeting will discuss the roads to be repaired in 2009 and any other business
pertinent to the meeting. This was published and posted.
_______3.A date was set for the board to view the roads for the spring of 2009,
with the patrolman.. This is April 9th and Jeff Acallon will join the group.
_______4. The Town Board is to be paid at this meeting.
_______5. Meeting changed to Monday evening due to the election on Tuesday.
_______6. The next Smart Growth meetings are continuing at the Town Hall and Ted
Greenheck is meeting with the lawyer to finish up the wording of some
ordinances for the town..Will try to be present to present a report on activities
being done.
_______7. The Annual Financial Reports for the Township for 2008 were run and
sent to the residents in March. A newsletter was put together and distributed at
the election. More will be available at the Annual Meeting.
_______8. The State Form C is completed and sent to the state by March 31,2008 and
the clerk sent it registered mail. We have the verified notice of the state
receiving the report.
_______9. Quik Books update for the payroll needs to be sent for and will be here by
April.The cost will be $239.00.
_______10. The quarterly reports are due at this time.
_______11. Jane Furchgott contacted the board and wants care done in cutting trees
and brush on her road. Letter here from her lawyer concerning this matter..
________12. The school districts have to be given a complete roll of the election to each
district. We have to run over 50 sheets of records for each of the 3 districts.
These have to have a certification of the Clerk to be legal. New rules of the
state. This is Ithaca, River Valley, and Weston.
________13. A thank you gift from the township has been gotten for Dale
________14. A road rating report is due on the town roads.
________15. Wisconsin Town’s Association dues are due for $364.40 and will be paid
at this meeting. They also need the names , addresses, phone numbers and
offices of each member of the board. Clerk to complete this and send in after
the election on April 7th..
________16. The fire bills are due May 1st. 1/2 for Plain and 3/4 for Town of
Washington .Also fire reports for the state were to be completed by the clerk
and fire-chiefs.
________17.Lottery credit checks are due now..
________18. The State Recycling Report is to be completed and sent to the State by
April 30,2008. Get these papers online now. Clerk has run these.
________19. Smart Growth Committee to be paid at this meeting.
________20. The Township Insurance at Rural Mutual is due May 1,2009. The
coverage papers are here.
________21. Untaxed lands reports need to be completed and sent to the state. Are due
June 2,2009. The ones due to the clerk have been received by March
31st.
________22. We will receive Recycling Grant Money of $1,544.96 from the DNR
around May 1st.

Change in meeting date

Notice is hereby given of the change in the meeting date of the Town of Bear Creek Town Board for Monday April 6th, 2009 because of the Spring General Election at the Town Hall on April 7th.
Also note that the town hall is handicapped accessible. The meeting will be at 8:00 P.M.

Minutes approved for February 2009

MINUTES TO REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF TOWN OF BEAR CREEK
The Town of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday February 3rd, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town Hall, with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P. M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included :Harold Emerson and Dale Nachreiner, Supervisors, Sheila Tafs , treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman, Ted Greenheck , Jerry Wittmann, , and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was presented by the Treasurer. Motion to approve as presented by Dale Nachreiner, 2nd, and carried.
Roads were discussed concerning salt and sand. Regular winter roads.
Spring Primary Election to be Tuesday February 17th. We will use a 5 person board to familiarize all with the procedures, as there is a big election in April. Was published and posted. There was a training session for the election board on Saturday February 14th at the Town Hall.
Checks are to go to the schools on February 20th of the monies paid in January. Sheila needed a check to pay the dogs dues.

The Clerk’s and the Treasurer’s books for 2008 are to be audited at the March 3,2009 meeting due ..
There was a Smart Growth Meetings February 17th 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall.
The Clerk is working on the Township Annual Report and these will be mailed to the residents after the books have been audited. She is also workng on the Form C Report for the state. This is due March 31st.
The area District’s Town’s Association meetings are to be held and Bear Creek is having 4 attend . Eileen February 27th at Mineral Point and Marty, Harold, and Dale Saturday March 7th at the Voyageur in Reedsburg..
Training in Richland Center for Chief Election Inspectors was attended by Phyllis Meister and Eileen Eberle.
Harold is meeting with the assessor on new construction in Bear Creek .
The tobacco report was completed and mailed.
The TSX machine had to go to Baraboo for internal safety measures and is now back in the township. 2 trips to Baraboo by the Clerk.
A new set of State Statues are in the township.
Jeff Scallon accepted his name being placed on the ballot for Supervisor 2 for the Spring
Election.
The State of Wisconsin now wants the State Withholding sent to them online. Clerk and Treasurer working this out.
The Clerk requested that her home computer that is used for the township get high speed Internet and free up her phone line. The groundline takes forever to come in. Some days the phone is used for this Internet for hours. Especially when putting in the payroll program that takes 6 or 7 hours on the land line. Motion by Harold to approve this program and to pay the cost per month on this of $49.95 by the Township, 2nd, and carried. Initial cost is $199.00 for the equipment and $80.00 for a pole because of where Eileen lives..Eileen to talk to Town and Country TV to get this done. Schwartz’s are township residents, so using local service. Can’t do until spring.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.

_______7. Jerry Wittmann is on the agenda to have the permit on his junk yard
renewed the township and then Sauk County. He is over the amount of used
cars that can be stored on a farm and this has to be done for the cars to stay
there.

parcels. Ted to go over these and bring to board.This board meets the 3rd
Tuesday on the month..Bob Brassington stated he would consider a position on
this board when one opens up.
_______14.Steve Prouty asked to be placed on the agenda with concerns of the closed
road near his home, bigger road signs, and his mother’s road during snowy
weather not being plowed out at times..
_______15.St Patrick’s requested a beer permit for a concert they are having at the
Church on Sunday March 15th. Sent the $5.00 and given to treasurer.
_______16. Eileen and Phyllis attended the election training in Richland Center on
February 10th. This make them certified with the state. and can conduct
elections. Judy was asked but had a doctor’s appointment.
_______17. Town to attend District Town’s Association meetings. Clerk on
February 27th at Mineral Point. Board to attend at the Voyaguer in Reedsburg
March 7th. These start at 8:00 A.M.. Speakers start at 8:45 A.M.
_______18. Jeff Nachreiner requested to be on the agenda concerning a plat of his land
that he wants to sell. He was at the Smart Growth meeting in February. Ted
made available the survey and the corrections that need to be done. He will
present this at the meeting. Copy of Smart Growth recomendation for
board.
_______19. The Spring Promary was held February 17th and there were 37 voters. 34
Accu-vote and 3 on the TSX.
_______20. Town and Country TV came and set up the internet for town usage at the

MINUTES TO REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF TOWN OF BEAR CREEK
Tuesday January 6, 2009 8:00 P.M. Bear Creek Town Hall
The Town Board of the Township of Bear Creek held its regular
monthly meeting Tuesday January 6, 2009 at the Bear Creek Town
Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman
Marty McCluskey.
Present included Harold Emerson and Dale Nachreiner , Supervisors;
Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; ; Dave Zwettler,and Eileen Eberle,Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson, 2nd, and carried.
The treasurer’s report was presented by the treasurer. Motion to
approve as presented was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
$368,576.91 was collected in early paid taxes and the schools , state,
and county needs their monies from this by January 15th, with these checks needing to be made out and sent by that time.
New budget for 2009 was completed and placed in the computer.
The 1099’s were mailed to our businesses.
The Machinery Equipment Account at the bank as of December
31,2008 is $37,279.74.
Recycling charges are going up 4% as of January 1st
Quarterly reports were due at this time. W-2’s were completed and
distributed to the board. Federal and State Reconciliation’s were completed, and the W-3 report, these completed by the clerk.
Taxes for 2008 are being collected by the treasurer. New recycling
sheets are here for 2009 and distributed by Sheila when collecting taxes.
New record books for the board’s 2009 records were completed by the clerk and distributed to the board.
The Township Audit of the books of the Clerk and Treasurer will be held Tuesday evening March 3rd. This is done by the Town Board.
The Town Board was paid for the 4th quarter of 2008 at this
meeting.
The transportation aid check came in the amount of $22,069.28 and was placed in the checking account.
The township needs to get more sand due to the bad winter.
The town office has a new copier and printer, thanks to Sheila.
An election survey came from the state and was completed by the
clerk,and returned to the state.
The Wisconsin Clerk’s Association dues were paid in the amount of
$45.00.
An updated Quick Books program needs to be ordered in the amount of
$199.95. This will be for the payroll program..
The board will be paid $35.00 per meeting starting on April after the Annual meeting
The Smart Growth Committee will meet January 20th at 7:30 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall. .
The clerk and Judy Brassinghton will attend a chief inspector of
elections meeting in Richland Center on February 10th..
Next meeting of the Town Board will be Tuesday February 3rd,2009 at 8:00 P.M.
The board needs ti registered for the District Town’s Association
meetings for the spring Town’s Association meetings.
The web site for Bear Creek is up and running. The address is
http://townofbearcreek.blogger.com. A thank you needs to go to Mike Eberle for doing this for us so reasonably . Cost $100.00 to put together and runs
for free.
A certified survey map os here for looking over from Dave Meixelsperger. This to be given to Ted Greenheck of the Smart Growth,as this is the new
proceedure.
The bills were paid as presented and approved by the board. The
schools will be paid on January 15th with the early paid tax money due them.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by at 9:45 P.M. seconded by
Harold Emerson , 2nd, , and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the
meeting.

AGENDA FOR REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF TOWN OF BEAR CREEK
Tuesday February 3, 2009 8:00 P.M. at Bear Creek Town Hall
______1. Discussion of the roads. Use of salt,sand,etc. Bad winter weather conditions.
______2. Spring Primary Election to be held Tuesday February 17th from 7:00 A.M. to
8:00 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall. Only vote on one party.
Will need to use a 5 person board. Will publish and have the public
testing of the voting machines on Saturday February 14th at 8:00 A.M..
______3. Checks need to be written to the schools (5) by February 15th of the tax
money paid in January. Sheila needs checks to settle with the county for the
county and state and the dogs. Also checks need to be written for the DNR
money in lieu of taxes to MATC, River Valley, county and state.
______4.Dave Meixelsperger survey map for the sale of a parcel of land was
approved by Smart Growth and is placed before this meeting for approval,
being presented by Ted Greenheck,Chairman of Smart Growth..
______5. Audit of the Clerk’s and Treasurer’s books for 2008 has been set for
the March meeting.
______6.There is to be a Smart Growth meeting at the Bear Creek Town Hall on
Tuesday February 17,2008 at 7:00 P.M. which will need to be changed due to the
election on that day..
______7,. The Clerk is working on the Township Annual Report for 2008 and starting
the State Form C State Report that is due March 1,2009. We can distribute
the Township Annual Reports in March.
______8. There are area Town’s Association meetings coming up in February and
March and who and where will members of the board attend..
______9.The TSX voting machine had to be taken to Baraboo for installation of some
security measures. Needs to be gotten, plus the ballots have to be picked up in
Baraboo and the chips for the voting machines.
______10. There is an election training meeting in Richland Center on February 11,2009
on the certification of Election Chief Inspectors and to be attended by Eileen
Eberle and Judy Brassington.
______11. The 2009 Quick Books payroll program needs to be ordered for $199.95. We
can’t pay for the payroll program until March. .
______12. The new series of State Statute Books for our township were available at the
County Clerk’s office and the clerk has them..
______13.Jeff Scallon accepted his nomination to be on the ballot for Supervisor 2 at the
April 7th election.
______14. The state of Wisconsin wants the State withholding sent to them online. Will
i t work to have the check made out, signed by the 3 people who sign checks, and
then the treasurer go on line and complete the transaction. She already goes online
to get the bank reports.. I think. We need some hardcopy on this someplace. New.

MINUTES December 2, 2008 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday December 2nd, 2008 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Dale Nachreiner, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Dale Nachreiner , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed. Sand, salt,etc. ordered for the winter season.
Bindl/Bauer called and stated all bills to the town were currently paid..
The levies were all in the township for the schools and the taxes were at the county before Thanksgiving to be run.The clerk needs to complete the tax roll book, complete the Statement of Taxes before the 3rd Monday in December, and complete the levy report for the Department of Natural Resources so we get the In Lieu of Taxes money.
Smart Growth meetings are being held at the Town Hall monthly. They will meet in January.
The December town board meeting was held December 2nd, 2008. The January meeting will be January 6,2009 at 8:00 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall.
The 2009 Caucus for the purpose of nominating candidates for the township offices whose names will appear on the April 7,2009 ballot will be held Tuesday January 6th at 7:30 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall. These terms are for 2 years and will start at the Annual Meeting to be held Tuesday April 14th at the Bear Creek Town Hall starting at 8:00 P.M. Caucus notice to be published and posted by the clerk.
The patrolman was given a Christmas bonus.
Pay for meetings was raised to $35.00 per meeting. Chairman salary of $2,000.00 per year. Supervisor 1 and Building Inspector salary is $1,800.00. Supervisor 2 salary is $1,600.00 per year.
A sheet was completed on the school levies, news of upcoming events in the township and copies to go out with the taxes. Also the new recycling sheet for 2009. This was the Spring Newsletter and sent out with the taxes.
The assessor has to attend meetings in 2009 so that we are in compliance with the state on our assessments.
The Clerk attended an energy meeting put on by the Town’s Association and brought back information for the board.
The Smart Growth check came in the amount of $3,686.18. Also a bill for $8626.64 which is due in January. Then we should get a reimbursement of $8,313,82 in the summer of 2009 and this should complete the billing of the Smart Growth Planning assistance from the county.
Motion was made by Dale Nachreiner, 2nd by Marty McCluskey to close the Township books as of December 31,2008 for 2008.
The tobacco selling permit papers need to be completed and sent to the state. Even if we have no permits out.
The board was paid for the budget meetings and the Smart Growth Committee paid for the 4th quarter.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 8:50 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.
