New business
______1. New budget for the year 2011 has been put into the computer. The updated
payroll figures for 2011 have been completed in the records. Social Security and
Medicare figures, plus some federal figures are new. State of Wisconsin stays the
same.
______2. The 1099s will be mailed out to the businesses we work with in Bear Creek.
______3. Clerk to compile figures for the retirement and get to the treasurer as this
is done elctronically now..
______4. Meetings for the Township are $35.00 per meeting as of January 1, 2009.
______5. Quarterly reports are due for completion at this time. Also, the Federal and
State Reconciliation reports to IRS and State of Wisconsin. Clerk to complete
these. W-3 completed for Federal.
______6. Taxes for 2010 are being collected by the treasurer. New recycling sheets
are available at the Town Hall for 2011. Also the Spring Newsletter.
______7. W-2s were completed by the clerk for the board and distributed at the January
2011 meeting. The Town Board is to be paid at this meeting
______8, Highway Aid amounts in 2011 are $92,745.77. $24,186.44 is coming to Bear
Creek on January 4,2011..
______9. New Record Books for the Board were completed by the clerk for 2011.
These are to be distributed at the January meeting.
_______10. The Wisconsin Clerk’s Association dues are due now for $45.00..
_______11. Township Audit of Books of the Treasurer and Clerk needs to be set. Was
at March meeting last year. Clerk doesn’t have the December bank statement
or the numbers in the account register of early paid taxes as yet.
______12 Supervisor Harold Emerson fell and broke his hip and is on the mend.
Flowers sent by the town.
______13. An updated Quik Books program will need to be ordered for the township
records..This will include the payroll program and update Quick Books to 2011.
______14. The web site for the Town of Bear Creek is up and running. The address
is http://townofbearcreek.blogspot.com Many nice comments on this.
______15.Ross and Teresa Halverson want on the agenda for a bed and breakfast permit
form to be issued by the township..
______16 An election survey came from the state on the last election and this is to be
completed by the clerk and returned to the Federal Election Board. 24 page
report. The number of ballots were ordered for the 2 elections on 2011.
______17. The DNR report of the tax levies was completed and sent. This determines the
amounts of DNR in lieu of taxes.
______18. The Statement of Taxes was completed and sent to the state and county. The
Certification of the taxes was completed and the tax book gotten to the
treasurer.
______19. The assessor was in the township updating the figures for 2011.
______20. Any other business to come before the board and pertinent to the town board
meetings.

Taxes for 2010

Hello residents and landowners in Bear Creek Township,
The taxes for 2010 have been levied and you should receive these in the next few days.
Included with the taxes are the sheets for recycling for 2011 and a Spring Newsletter of informative information concerning our township.
If you need further information, please call any board member.
Have a Happy Holidays and stay warm. This is a real Wisconsin winter. Burr !!!!! But at least Wisconsin is going to the Rose Bowl.

Approved minutes to November Town Board Meeting

MINUTES TO REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF BEAR CREEK TOWNSHIP
November 8,2010
MINUTES November 8, 2010 TOWN OF BEAR CREEK REGULAR MEETING
The meetings were called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer;Tim McCluskey,Patrolman; and Eileen Eberle , Clerk .
The Proposed Budget Meeting was held with discussion of the budget.
The Public Hearing of the Budget was held and any concerns of the budget were raised and defined and accepted.
The Adoption of the 2011 Budget Meeting was held and a motion made by Harold Emerson to adopt the budget which was carried and the budget was adopted. These meetings were published and posted.
Each meeting was called to order and adjourned.
The Township of Bear Creek then held its regular monthly meeting Monday November 8th, 2010 at the Bear Creek Town Hall with the meeting called to order following the budget meetings , by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Jeff Scallon, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the Clerk. Motion to approve as read was made by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given by the treasurer.Motion to approve as presented by Jeff Scallon , 2nd, and carried.
Road work being done was discussed. Sand, salt,etc. ordered for the winter season.
The fall general election was held November 2nd The meeting date was changed due to the election.
The fire-departments were paid in November for their full levy for 2010. 50% to Plain and 25% to the Town of Washington..
The December town board meeting was set for December 7, 2010.
Rural Mutual Insurance was paid their 2nd half of their premium for 2010.
There was a levy limit from the state on the amount raised for Town Budget. We are within the limit.
Population of Bear Creek is 591 with approximate number of those of voting age of 428.
Town and Country Sanitation recycling sheets are here for 2010 and will be sent out with the taxes..
There will be 2 Elections in 2011.
The dog collection check came and this amount paid to the treasurer.
The check came for the Veteran’s Grave at the Ward Cemetery and was given to the treasurer. This was created by President Abraham Lincoln.
The salt contract came and was signed for this winter season..
Shelly Scallon was paid for her work at the Ward Cemetery.
Clerk is putting together a newsletter for the residents and had board make sure addresses,etc. were all correct. Needs the web site on it yet. These will go out with the taxes.
The levies are coming for the schools and the county for the taxes for this year and the school levies were given to the board.
The Caucus was set for Tuesday January 4th ,2011 at 7:30 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall , followed by the monthly meeting.
Bills were paid as presented and approved by the board.
Motion was made at 9:05 P.M. by Sheila Tafs to adjourn the meeting, 2nd and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.

______1. .Road work ,salt,sand, and bills for 2010 discussion...
______2.The new structures in the Township sheet is here and given to Harold..
______3. Numbers were not here for the 2010 levies of taxes until Friday afternoon
December 3rd. State school aid amounts and this is holding up all of the
taxes. Very late this year.
. Clerk to complete the forms in the tax roll book and fill in the statement of
taxes for the state. This is due the 3rd Monday in December to the
state. Treasurer to mail out the taxes and set the collection times for these.
Taxes were up for the township
______4. The Caucus was published and set for Tuesday January 4th at 7:30 P.M. The
regular monthly meeting will follow this Caucus.
______5.Clerk will have W-2s and Record books ready for board on January.
______6. .Refund came from IRS for $13.92 . Don’t know why, but we are putting it in
the bank. Given to Sheila.
______7. The patrolman is to be given a Christmas Bonus..
______8. Smart Growth members are to be paid at the January meeting for the 4th
quarter of 2010.
_____9. The ballots were ordered for the February 15th and the April 5th elections in
2011.
_____10. The sheet on the school levies, news for township has been completed and
will go out to the Township with the taxes. Also the 2011 sheets on recycling.
This is the Spring Newsletter. The web page address of :
townofbearcreek.blogspot.com is to be put on the sheet.
_____11. The DNR needs a report completed on the levies for each of the schools,
county, township, and state, as this is how they base their DNR in lieu of taxes.
We don’t get this break if the sheet isn’t completed.
_____12. We need to pay the $12,121.09 from Dan Ruetten property covered by
Sauk County to the state.
______13 The tax sheet for the state needed to be completed , signed, and sent to the
state.. That we stayed in compliance with the amount of our tax levy for the
township.
______14..The motion needs to be made to close the Township records as of December
31,2010 . This is a state law.
______15.The tobacco selling permit sheet for Bear Creek needs to be completed and
sent to the state..Even if we have no cigarettes being sold in the Township.
______16.The town has some vey big bills out yet for 2010. Bauer/Bindl and the roads.
The checkbook may not have the funds in the regular account to cover all of
this. The laptop bill isn’t in here , either...
______17.. Sauk County residents needing help with heat, repairs,, etc. have some
information sheets available at the town office.
______18. Garbage pick-up and recycling sheets are here.
______19.. Lottery Credit amounts and the new First Dollar amounts of credit are
here. Sheets run for the board.
