Approved March 2009 minutes

MINUTES TO REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF TOWN OF BEAR CREEK The Town Board of the Township of Bear Creek held its regular monthly meeting at the Bear Creek Town Hall Tuesday evening March 3, 2009 with the meeting called to order at 8:00P.M. by Chairman Marty McCluskey.
Present included : Harold Emerson and Dale Nachreiner, Supervisors; Sheila Tafs, Treasurer; Tim McCluskey, Patrolman; Jeff Scallon; Ted Greenheck; Steve Prouty; Jeff Nachreiner; Reggie Jaquish; and Eileen Eberle, Clerk.
Minutes to the last meeting were read by the clerk. Motion to approve as read by Harold Emerson , seconded, and carried.
Treasurer’s report was presented by the treasurer. Motion to approve as presented by Harold Emerson , 2nd, and carried.
The Form C State Report has been completed by the clerk and sent registered mail to the state.
The Township Annual Report has been completed by the clerk. These are to be run and sent to the residents in March. Treasurer ran the labels for these letters.
The April 7th General Election will need a 5 person election board. Clerk to put notice in the papers of the election and the testing of the equipment for election day.The testing will be Saturday April 4th at 8:00 A.M. at the Town Hall.. The polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on election day. Board running for election.
The Township changed its April meeting to Monday April 6, 2009 at 8:00 P.M. This because of the election on Tuesday. This needs to be published.
The Township Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday April 14 th at 8:00 P.M. at the Bear Creek Town Hall. This needs to be published in the paper .
The board needs to review the roads before the Annual Meeting , if the weather
permits this. This was set for April 9th at 9:00 A.M. Jeff Scallon is to join the group.
Tim McCluskey got a 50 cents per hour raise for 2009.
The state housing report needs to be completed .
Jerry Whittmann was on the agenda to get his junk yard permit renewed and approval to be presented to the county.
Fire Audit forms are to be completed by the clerk and the fire chiefs so we get the fire dues.
Voter registration forms are here and we will continue to complete these at the Spring Elections.
We have 3 trained by the state for the election processes, Phyllis , Judy, and Eileen to be Chief Inspectors. Will get Lucille and Ken trained also in the next 2 years..Clerk is trained but doesn’t work at the elections as a poll worker , only in emergency...
Steve Prouty was prersent concerning the road closure during winter months. Wants more aggresive signs posted for Safety. Board to look at this when they review the roads..

The PILT monies need to come and be distributed.
The Smart Growth Committee has completed their drafts of some ordinances and will have the wording checked by a lawyer for the final writing. Bob Brassington and Pat Brown both acknowledged an interest in being on the Smart Growth Board.
Renewal of the Quick Books Payroll Program needs to be ordered .
St. Patrick’s was issued a 1 day license to serve beer at their Irish Music Day.
Jeff Nachreiner was present to put some chamges on a survey map of his home. Motion was made by Dale to approve the changes, 2nd, and carried. Ted Greenheck at meeting so it was in the bounds of Smart Growth.
The District Town’s Association meetings were held with Eileen, Marty, Harold, and Jeff attending.
Town and Country came and set up the internet at the clerk’s home for town usage.
Ted Greenheck was present for the survey on Heiser land that will be part of Bear Creek land on an exchange..
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 9:35 P.M. by Shelia Tafs , 2nd by Harold , and carried. Chairman McCluskey adjourned the meeting.
Audit of Books meeting
The Town Audit of the Clerk’s and Treasurer’s book for 2008 was completed and approved as presented. The board signed the records of the clerk and treasurer. Clerk was to mail out the Annual Reports following the completion of the audit.
